Car accident will slow things down

The timing could not have been worse... having been involved in a car accident some weeks ago I was hoping the pain in my neck and back would have subsided by now ready for the start of the book tour. Apparently I have whiplash and a trapped nerve between C6 and C7 discs. However... let's look on the positive side, my lovely wife has kindly offered to drive me to each event and strong prescribed pain killers will hopefully dull the discomfort. One thing is for sure a smile will be on my face and a warm welcome will be extended to everyone who attends... no matter how much pain I feel!
Best regards, David

Merchandising for the Tour

The merchandising has arrived in time for the Waterstone's book signing tour, which starts on 17 Sept in Bath. More to follow, but here are some pics showing some of the items produced to support all the events.

We have A3 maps of Pathylon, ribboned as scrolls... great giveaways!

I love these (my 10 year old daughter wants to keep them all!)... Boxed crystals depicting the gems that appear in each book... Curse of Pathylon (Ruby), the Amulet of Silvermoor (Sapphire) and the Pyramids of Blood (Emerald).

Mugs with the images of both book covers and the tour strap line...

Really pleased with all these products, which will be given away as competition prizes and incentives at each Waterstone's book signing event.

First two books... proofed and ready to roll off the press

This was a thankless task... my publisher sent me the digital proofs of the first two titles in the Bradley Baker series to triple check. Took me 4 days...

Publisher, Author and Printer all happy... both titles will be rolling off the press next Tuesday!

A wooden cask full of sacred gold coins

Down on Meadfoot Beach in Torquay and recreated a scene from the first Bradley Baker adventure book, when the round wooden cask that contains the sacred gold coins is found by the search party looking for Bradley and Musgrove in Amley's Cove....

The cask is actually an ice bucket and what a bargain, my wife bid for the cask on eBay and won it for 99p - result! Its going to be used as a prop on my signing tables during the Waterstone's UK Tour.

Also it turns out that the ice bucket dates back before the first world war. We found some scrunched up sheets of old paper in the bottom beneath the base and they were pages ripped from a publication called "Answers" (The popular Journal for Home and Train) dated 8th November 1930.... amazing find, probably worth more than the cask!
